Top 5 Gardening Tips for June

  • Mulch the garden and around trees to retain moisture in the soil and fight weed growth
  • Fill in empty spaces in flowerbeds or borders with annuals such as zinnias, container sunflowers and impatiens
  • Cut bouquets early in the morning and get them into deep, slightly warm water quickly to keep them fresh and beautiful
  • Check your irrigation system for any breaks and leaks as many could have occurred during winter and spring
  • Set up your irrigation system on automatic timers
