Welcoming Our New Business Software: ASPIRE

Our team went into 2016 with a common goal: to get Aspire LM up and running to provide the best service possible to our clients. We are excited to announce the new system is up and running! Aspire LM brings Estimating, Scheduling, Purchasing, Mobile Time Entry, Customer Relationship Management, Invoicing, and Accounting all together in one system.

Our implementation and training was led by Aspire LM Account Manager, Jon Gohl. Jon is a landscape pro with over 15 years experience in the industry. During his on-site visit in July we reviewed all processes and best practices of the system. We've learned the ins and outs of the system and enjoy training our team on the new possibilities using Aspire. The mobile software allows for easy access to information while on site and for streamlined communication of site specific tasks and opportunities.

The Aspire Software Company was launched by Kevin Kehoe and Mark Tipton in 2014. Kevin has over 35 years of experience as a Landscape Industry Consultant and Mark has over 25 years of experience in the software development business. Their goal is to build Aspire into the best software business in the industry. The Aspire team is constantly updating and improving the software to achieve Kevin and Mark's goals, and they are doing an excellent job!

The Meaning Behind Colors:

 There is nothing like color in the right places to make your property stand out from the rest! With plenty of time in the season to add color to your property, let's address how to best catch peoples' attention:

Purple: a dramatic and luxurious color to tie into landscape design, that may be warm or cool depending on its surrounding colors
Yellow: an optimistic color bringing happiness to the garden when used in small quantities
White: a fresh and clean color that creates a bright appearance in landscapes

Orange: conveys happiness and creates a friendly atmosphere while bringing attention to areas where planted

Green: creates a restful landscape that conveys reassurance and safety, bringing calm spaces into the landscaping
Red: excellent for drawing attention to focal points on your property
Blue: a cool and calming color that works best when paired with purple and yellow blossoms

 Prevention of a Devastating Horticulture Disease

California's drought has left many trees and plants stressed. High stress factors combined with a late rainy season in California's bloom season, creates a perfect breeding ground for deadly bacteria.
Sonoma Counties greatest concern and threat to Pear, Apple, and Rosaceae species is Fire Blight.


Fire blight is a contagious bacterial disease. It is a worldwide threat but hits home in Sonoma County with its devastating effects on our Pear Trees.

The Bacteria attacks blossoms in spring and gradually moves up into the trees system. The bacteria causes a scorched appearance on the infected stems, bark, and leaves. Branches and trunks become plagued with cankers. Infected blossoms will turn brown, wilt, and die within 1-2 weeks.


Our climbing temperatures provide optimal conditions for the spread of the bacteria. Splashing rain, insects, birds, and wind easily spread the bacteria from tree to tree. 


 At Landesign we are noticing fire blight in Pear trees all over the county, do not feel alone in this battle!


It is important to take proper measures to professionally inspect your pear and other fruit trees for fire blight and to make plans to control its spread if infection occurs.
