Celebrating Enrique's 3 Year Anniversary!

Enrique joined the Landesign team in November 2013 as a Maintenance Crew Leader. He is an excellent addition to the Landesign team, and is now a Field Supervisor for the maintenance division. He says, "... I've worked many places, and I really enjoy working with the Landesign team".

During his free time, Enrique enjoys gardening, spending time with his sons, and landscaping. Before joining Landesign, he worked building golf courses with heavy equipment - including Windsor Golf Club and Fountain Grove Country Club.

We are thankful for Enrique and the skills he brings to the maintenance division, and look forward to many more years together!

March Mulch Madness!

Mulch has a great impact on enhancing the appearance of landscapes. There are many benefits to maintaining a sufficient layer of mulch:
  • Reduces evaporation from soil surface, cutting water use by 25-50%
  • Controls weeds, which rob soil moisture
  • Moderates soil temperature
  • Controls erosion
  • Gives a finished look, improving aesthetic quality
  • Organic mulch promotes soil microorganism activity, improving soil tilth overall and helps to lessen soil compaction
Lack of mulch reduces weed control and increases moss build-up as well as increasing evaporative water loss during summer. In addition, rebarking is the simplest way to make your property look fresher and brighter and ensures mulch will be consistently effective.

We recommend rebarking every other year at the end of winter or early spring after we finish our pruning and pre-emergence application. There are many different types of mulch available. We are happy to discuss the benefits of mulch and types available for your property to prepare for the Spring season!

The Importance of Winter Landscaping:

Storm clean up, pruning and bed maintenance in the winter set the foundation for the spring and summer season. Our highly trained crews are pruning away so your site's will be ready to bloom in Spring.
  • Shrub Bed Preparation by raking and detailing is essential for pre-emergence and new mulch (if budgeted).
  • New Mulch provides needed moisture and controls weeds, erosion, and gives your property a finished look! Click to schedule
  • Winter Pruning focuses on plant form to ensure they are ready for spring growth and blooms.
Shrub Bed pre-emergence will prevent weed germination through the spring and summer, and we recommend all high visibility shrub bed areas be treated. Click to schedule.
